Prior to joining El Bohío, Jen Kruse served as Budget Director for New York City Council Member Harvey Epstein. In that role, she met with more than 200 community-based organizations and helped secure $24 million in funding for District 2. Before pivoting to public service, Kruse had an 18-year career in institutional investing. She was a Partner at Mercer and Chief Client Officer for the U.S. Investments business. While at Mercer, she led the outsourced investment management practice overseeing $200 billion in pension, 401(k), endowment, and foundation assets. Her work helped secure retirements and advance philanthropic missions across the country.

A Lower East Side resident of nearly two decades, Kruse serves on the board of La MaMa ETC and was an elected member of the P.S. 19 EVCS School Leadership Team. She holds degrees in Economics and Philosophy, both magna cum laude, from the College of Charleston.
